Getting Around

Once you’re downtown, getting around will be a breeze! Downtown Eugene Merchants is sponsoring free rides for the evening from Emerald City Pedicab. Look for a-frame signs at each of four convenient stops:

• The Farmers Market Pavilion
• Broadway & Pearl
• The Kennel-Ellis Building at 13th & Willamette
• Broadway & Charnelton

Kesey Square Tree Lighting

The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Downtown Eugene Merchants, Downtown Eugene Inc., Sierra Pacific Industries, Lane Community College and EWEB, is proud to announce the arrival of a holiday tree in Kesey Square. This festive addition marks the beginning of the holiday season and demonstrates the strength of partnerships between local businesses and organizations in their commitment to enhancing the downtown experience for residents and visitors alike.

The tree, generously provided by Sierra Pacific Industries, stands as a centerpiece of holiday spirit. Dean Home Services contributed sparkling lights to adorn the tree, while students from Lane Community College crafted a custom tree stand, inspired by the iconic stand used at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. EWEB provided critical assistance with the tree’s installation. Coordination and facilitation came from members and staff of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce.

The holiday tree will officially light up at 6:30 PM Saturday night, kicking off the holiday season with festive cheer. The tree will remain in Kesey Square for the duration of the holiday season. Come by and have your picture taken with Ken and the tree!

Farmers Market Pavilion Performances

Over at the Farmers Market, we’re hosting a collection of activities and musical performances. Programming starting around 6:30pm.

• Capture the magic of the season with a selfie alongside Eugene Ballet dancers in their stunning Nutcracker costumes! Find them from 7-8pm.
• Performances from the Churchill High School Choir and the Eugene Springfield Youth Orchestra. Churchill goes on 7pm, and the Orchestra performs at 7:45pm.
• Euphoria Chocolate is graciously sponsoring a hot cocoa station
• Eugene Wordcrafters will have a table where children and adults alike can write letters to Santa from 6:30-8pm.

Downtown Eugene is home to our best performance venues. Catch one of the following shows Saturday night:

• Oliver! at The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts
• Back to the Future at The Hult Center for the Performing Arts
• Snow Fever: A Karaoke Christmas at Oregon Contemporary Theatre
• The Community Center for the Performing Arts 49^th anniversary party at WOW Hall
• The Greg Goebel Quartet at the Jazz Station
• Cats at Actor’s Cabaret

Watch the Ducks

Planning to watch the Big 10 Championship? We’ve got you covered. You can tune into the game all around Downtown Eugene:

• Claim 52 will have drink specials for residents of 13th & Olive
• Field House will have the game on their dozens of screens and big-screen projector. Stick around after the game for Vintage Night, an afterparty for the vintage market going on upstairs, hosted by Freestyle Superette and Wild Paisley
• Join a watch party at Zest, above the Downtown Athletic Club
• Swing by Play Eugene and hit the cages at halftime

Where Should I Park?

There’s plenty of space to park for free on a Saturday night in Downtown Eugene. Visit our parking page for full details.

Additionally, LTD is providing free rides into Downtown Eugene for the evening!

1. Download the Umo Mobility App on your Android or iPhone
2. Create or Log in to Your Umo Account
   • Open the app and sign in with an existing account or create a new one.
3. Add Your Free Code
   • Navigate to the “Wallet” section in the app.
   • Select “Redeem Code” and enter QEE-ML5V
   • Your free rides will now be available in your Umo Wallet.
4. Scan & Go!
   • When you are ready to ride, open the app and click on the ‘Code’ button at the bottom of your screen. When boarding the bus, present the QR code to the reader. This code can be used multiple times to pay for everyone in your party on the event day.

The Nutcracker Costume Contest – Cancelled

Unfortunately, the S.L.U.G. Queen’s Nutcracker Costume Contest has been cancelled this year. We look forward to bringing back the costume contest next year!
