Classical on Broadway

The “Oasis Ensemble” is a professional Flute, Cello and Piano Trio comprised of prominent musicians: Dawn Weiss, Flutist, Louis Lowenstein, Cellist, and Andrew Cannestra, Pianist. Let us enchant you with a mix of playful, light-hearted romps, pleasurable sensations, and dramatic escapades. The first half of the concert will feature delightful compositions by three living composers: Italian Roberto Di Marino, Englishman Paul Carr and New Yorker Rick Sowash. Though these works may be new to you, we think you will find them deeply satisfying and that you will want to hear more pieces by these composers. We will also present a new ingenious version of Harold Arlen’s “Over the Rainbow” arranged by our cellist Louis Lowenstein.

The final work of the concert is a lush French Romantic trio by Marc Delmas (1885 –1931). This gorgeous trio is a tour de force, resplendent with majestic melodies, rich harmonies, and intricate modulations. It fully deserves a place among the great Trio Sonatas of all time. You don’t want to miss this concert!
