Downtown Eugene and the University of Oregon are excited to collaborate for the 2026 Ducks Downtown event. This event caps the University of Oregon’s Week of Welcome by bringing students to downtown Eugene on Saturday, September 26th. We’re showing students the businesses and activities they can find year-round in downtown Eugene rather than creating one-time programming that doesn’t represent a typical day in downtown Eugene. Programming will include the Taste of TrackTown to highlight our downtown restaurants, the typical Saturday and Farmers markets, and activation of restaurants and tourism hubs for the U of O <> USC football game. The evening will culminate with our one piece of atypical Saturday programming – the BRiGHT Parade!
Greek life volunteers will be helping students navigate transit options downtown, including the Cascadia Mobility bike rental system and LTD. Co-branded marketing collateral between downtown Eugene and the University of Oregon will be pushed across multiple channels, both digital and physical (including light pole banners between downtown and campus).
We’re currently conducting outreach to ensure the Kesey Square food carts will be open for business.
With that in mind, we’re inviting vintage vendors to Kesey Square to meet these students and showcase your style and taste. Our downtown vintage shops currently span the entire length of Willamette, from Freestyle Superette and Wild Paisley at 13th Ave to Bumble Boutique on the north side of 5th and everywhere in between.
Spots for this market are capped at 8, with preference given to vendors with a brick-and-mortar presence in downtown Eugene. Students get the chance to discover you all in a central location, encouraging them to come back downtown over the course of their educational stint at the University of Oregon and visit your brick-and-mortar locations.
The BRiGHT Parade and Market End Time
The BRiGHT Parade provides an opportunity for vendors to light up their booths and join in the fun! We look forward to collaborating with registered vendors to set a formal end time depending on how much commerce we think might happen as the night continues. Please provide feedback in the registration form.
