Downtown Eugene Merchants is a membership-based organization of Downtown Eugene business owners. We work to promote and support downtown businesses and build a strong and positive perception of downtown.
Membership is open to any downtown business or organization interested in making strides toward a great downtown Eugene. Members include business owners, managers, and employees across all industries. Whether your business is retail, banking, tech, the arts, professional services, a restaurant or bar or something else entirely, we’d love to have you be a part of our organization.
Meetings are held the second Monday of every month from 12-1pm at People’s Bank unless otherwise indicated on our events calendar. Mission
Downtown Eugene Merchants promotes community, collaboration, and vibrancy for a more prosperous Downtown Eugene.
Membership & Benefits
Membership in Downtown Eugene Merchants is annual at $200/year, and you can join at any time during the year. Membership comes with a variety of benefits.
Marketing Efforts
Member-only marketing opportunities include:
- A highlighted listing in the highly effective and full-color map of downtown. The map is given out at hotels, Travel Lane County, the Eugene airport, the Farmers and Saturday markets, events, attractions, visitor packs, conventions and many Eugene businesses. Maps are reprinted every two years, with the next update coming Spring 2027.
- The map is intended to be comprehensive. We attempt to list all consumer-relevant businesses in downtown Eugene, regardless of membership.
- A sample map is on the right. Black and white listings are non-members.
- Preferential placement for the 9 available spots on our monthly “…in Downtown” posters, distributed to 100+ sites all over Eugene and campus
- Access to a variety of members-only deals at participating businesses
Education & Advocacy
Decisions that affect downtown, big and small, are made every day. We have the ear of important city officials like EPD Chief Skinner, Downtown Incident Commander Ray Brown, City Council & Ward 1 City Councilor Eliza Kashinsky, and key contacts at the City in Cultural Services, Public Works, and other departments that impact downtown. Being a part of DEM keeps you informed about decisions, regulations, and ordinances affecting downtown and mobilizes members to advocate on behalf of what’s best for downtown.
Events
Downtown Eugene partners with the City of Eugene Cultural Services, the University of Oregon, Onward Eugene, Travel Lane County, Lane Arts Council and others to connect their events to our members in creative ways, and we encourage our members to lean in. Tourists and locals alike visit downtown Eugene for these events. Downtown Eugene Merchants works to ensure they come into our shops and restaurants, too!

Downtown Eugene Merchants, our members, and our partners across the community help make a number of incredible events happen each year.
Holiday Night Out
The Holiday Night Out and tree lighting ceremony in Kesey Square is an incredible collaborative effort that helps drive Downtown Eugene shopping at the beginning of the holiday season. Downtown Eugene Merchants leads this event with support from the Eugene Chamber, City of Eugene staff, and many other partners year after year.
Halloween Downtown
Halloween Downtown is Downtown Eugene’s most well-attended single day event. Adults and children alike visit Downtown to load up on candy and explore many of spooky attractions and exhibits inspired by the cultures of Eugeneans of all stripes. The City of Eugene’s Cultural Services team leads this event with support from Downtown Eugene Merchants and other sponsors.
Taste of TrackTown
Taste of TrackTown is a Eugene Chamber-led event where downtown Eugene restaurants offer up $5 bites, giving visitors a chance to try several downtown restaurants for the first time on a budget! There’s always room for more participants, so restaurants: contact Katie Wilgus at the Eugene Chamber to participate in the next Taste on Saturday, September 26th 2026 during Ducks Downtown.
Collaboration
There are many organizations working to make downtown Eugene a better place for its many constituents, including Travel Lane County, the City of Eugene, Downtown Eugene Inc., the Eugene Chamber, the University of Oregon, and more. We’re constantly collaborating with all of these groups on behalf of our members.

Free Resources
While we encourage all Downtown Eugene businesses to become DEM members, helping us support our mission, we offer a variety of free resources to all downtown businesses.
- We host a group chat on Signal for members and non-members alike. This is the best way to communicate with other Downtown Eugene business owners in real-time. Contact merchants@downtowneugene.com for the link to join.
- We publish maps of Downtown Eugene businesses every other year. Click here to request maps for your business.
