Support Downtown Public Safety
Currently Guides patrol from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday thru Saturday. The increased funding will last through the end of June. Another round of funding from the City will be requested but the fate of that request is uncertain. DEI needs your support in two ways.

Downtown Guides Program Expands
Demonstrating a shared commitment to revitalizing Eugene’s city center, several businesses and government agencies recently partnered to contribute $100,000 to finance an expansion of the Downtown Guides program. Since June, the program has added six new full-time guides and is increasing its presence downtown, with a particularly strong focus on Broadway.

Downtown Public Safety Plan
The Downtown Eugene Public Safety Plan was completed in September 2004. A community policing approach that focuses on partnerships with area stakeolders is an integral component to the plan.

The Downtown Guides Program
Downtown Eugene Inc. has operated the Downtown Guides program since 1991. Downtown Guides serve as the "eyes and ears" of the downtown district, and work with other security agencies and police officers in the area to keep downtown safe.
